Cooking instructions
1.
Preheat the oven to 300°F. Prepare a 2 lbs pork shoulder: trim the excess fat and cut it into large cubes.
2.
Make the spice rub: combine 3 tbs of brown sugar, 1 tbs of salt, 1 tbs of paprika powder, 1 tsp of garlic powder, 1 tsp of onion powder and 1 tsp of ground cumin. Add a pinch of black pepper. Season the pork shoulder all over with this mixture.
3.
Heat some oil in a Dutch oven or cast-iron skillet for about 2.5 to 3 hours until the meat turns tender. Then remove the lid and cook until the pork pulls apart with a fork.
4.
Remove the pork shoulder from the oven and allow it to rest for 15 minutes.
5.
Serve the pulled pork with buns and BBQ sauce.
