Cooking instructions

In a large bowl, cover 1 cup of dried chick peas in about 2 inches of water and let them soak overnight.

Drain the water from the chickpeas and rinse them well before cooking.
3.
Transfer the chickpeas to a saucepan and cover them again with 2 inches of water.
4.
Add 2 crushed garlic cloves, 2 bay leaves and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil.
5.
Once the water boils, reduce to a simmer and cook for 25 minutes for firmer beans and up to 50 minutes for softer ones.
