Cooking instructions

1. Pour 1 cup of wild rice in a strainer and rinse it thoroughly under cold running water. Drain well.
2. Put the rice in a saucepan and add 4 cups of water. Add 0.5 tsp salt. Bring to a boil.
3. Reduce the heat once the water starts to boil.
4. Let the rice simmer for 45 minutes. Check if done. If the rice is not tender enough, simmer for another 10 minutes.
5. Drain the rice in a strainer and transfer to a bowl. Use a fork to fluff the rice.
