Cooking instructions

Wash and chop 2 carrots and 1 onion. Place them in the crock pot. Coat them with 3 tbs of corn flour.

Brush some olive oil on a 2 lbs beef top round and season with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet and briefly sear the beef before transferring it to the crock pot.

Add 2 cups of beef stock, 1 cup of red wine, 3 tbs of tomato puree and 2 tsp of sugar. Cook the beef on high for 3 hours, on low for 5 hours.

When done, place the beef on a cutting board and cover it with aluminum foil. Leave it to rest for 30 minutes.

Transfer the liquid and vegetables left in the crock pot to a saucepan to make the gravy. Add 3 tbs of corn flour to thicken it. Slice the beef and serve with the gravy.
