How long do I need to cook meat
The time it takes to cook meat depends on the doneness you're looking for. To obtain this, you need to look at the internal temperature of the meat when cooking. Extra-rare meat needs 80° to 100°F. For rare doneness it's 120° to 125°F, medium rare 130° to 135°F, medium 140° to 145°, medium well 150° to 155°F and well done 165° to 175°F. Use a digital meat thermometer in the thickest part of the meat to check.
