Does alcohol burn off when cooking

Alcohol only gradually burns off during cooking. Depending on the length and style of cooking, your dish might be left with less or more alcohol. After 15 minutes of cooking, the remaining amount of alcohol is 40%. After 2,5 hours, only 5% remains.
